Andrews, had a narrow escape from being electrocuted when adjusting a timeswitch on an electrically-driven waterpump on his property. Mr. Andrew’s was using a nail to make an adjustment behind theface oi the clock on the switch- The nail fell and he attempted to recover it, not noticing it had. fallen across two live controls. He was standing on a concrete floor and received a shock of 400 volts. Mr. Andrew’s was rendered unconscious with his hand continuing to make the contact. A brother, Mr. A. C. Andrews, immediately reached to switch off the power and received a shock which threw him to the ground as the result of his leg touching his brother. However, he was able to free his brother, who suffered a severe burn on the hand, besides great shock. Medical attention was obtained and he is now making good progress.
