WHITE HART HOTEL, HAWERA.
EXTENSIVE ALTERATIONS MADE. ‘ A spacious new lounge, luxuriously furnished, is the feature of the alterations to the White Hart Hotel, Hawera, which are nearing completion. Ihe bars have been remodelled and several other • improvements made, so that the hote is equal in all' respects' to the best, in th X ro S“g« »!.«>■. will be the finest in Hawera, is a welllighted room measuring more than -on. in both length and /width. Suitable furniture has been made by a Haweta upholstery firm specially for. the requirements of the roots, and a heavy pile earpet will complete the handsome appointments. A central heating system has been installed; it will be particularly valuable for keeping the lounge at a comfortable temperature. _ The dining room has been considerably improved. A bright carpet and new lighting system make it a cosy and hospitable room.. By the utilisation of room and passage space both public and private bars have been brought up to the highest standard. The fittings are all new, and the rooms are particularly bright and airy. Additions have been made to the building to provide for a passage leading from the entrance hall to the bars. The biggest structural alteration in the accommodation quarters is the provision of two shower rooms. The space has been utilised to good purpose in the shower rooms, dressing rooms and a room with handbasins and facilities for shaving. Hand-in-hand- with the major alterations and furnishings go the.latest features in the hotel appointments. Bars, lounge, and dicing room are all fitted with the most modern type' of noiseless swing doors, while new linoleums, new carpets and runners and fresh' .wallpapers, paint, etc., add to the generally spic and span appearance of the hotel, which is now equally as comfortable and cheerful as .those of larger 'centres. Everything that could add to the wellbeing of guests has been thought of and provision made accordingly. The opti;mism and enterprise "of the proprietor, iMr. J. N. Anderson, have como in for much favourable comment from those who consider that the hotel is now an acquisition to the town.*
