RESULTS FOR FIRST MONTH. £699.000 EXPECTED IN YEAR. By Telearaph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The sale of wages etamps during the first month of the new system, which began on August 1, totalled £32.500. An additional £lO,OOO was collected in wage taxes paid directly into the post office together with the tax on wages of civil servants. The total yield from stamp sales and all sources was about £50.000 for the month. The emergency wages tax should therefore reach about £600,000 for the year.
