ATTEMPT ON SPEED RECORD

NEW ENGINE NOT TO BE USED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 6.45 p.m. London, Sept. 19. Owing to unexpected difficulties the Air Ministry has decided that the speedily built racing engine will not be used in the air speed record attempt. Flight-Lieutenant Stainforth will use one of the Schneider Trophy standard engines in the SCB as soon as conditioas are favourable. It is expected to raise the record by at least 10 miles an hour.
