FROM MANCHESTER TO BUDAPEST. THROUGH CARRIAGE OF 1382 TONS. British Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Sept. 18. A remarkable piece of transport work is being undertaken by the London and North-Eastern railway and the HarwichZeebrugge train ferry, involving the through carriage of 1382 tons of electrical equipment from Manchester to Budapest for the Hungarian State railways, who are electrifying 80 miles of the main Hungarian line towards Vienna from Budapest to Komarom. The order for the equipment was placed with the Metropolitan Vickers Electrical Company, Manchester, and some of the units are now seady for transport.
