AN INTRUDER SHOT

MAN WOUNDED IN CHEST. INCIDENT IN MELBOURNE. Finding two men in a garage in his wood yard at Fawkner, says a Melbourne newspaper, on August 29, Mi. Alexander W. Mills fired a shot from a revolver. One of the men fell to the ground wounded, and the other man was detained until the police arrived. Mr. Mills had heard noises in the yard, and armed with a revolver he investigated. Two men came out of the garage and Mr. Mills ordered them, to put up their hands. When they failed to comply, Mr. Mills fired a shot. One of the men dropped to the ground, and the other man threw up his hands. Later a man was admitted to the Melbourne Hospital suffering from a bullet wound in the chest. His life was not considered to be in danger.
