MERGING OF SAVINGS BANK
WEST AUSTRALIAN PROPOSAL.
PART OF ECONOMY POLICY.
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 7.36 p.m. . , Perth, Aug. 26 The proposed merging of the west Australian Government Savings Bank into the Commonwealth Bank is almost completed. The authorities emphasise that the merger is not due to the bank experiencing any difficulties with the ■State Government. It is merely proceeding with the present scheme as part of its economy policy. .The latest balance-sheet of the State Savings Bank shows the deposits at £8,500,000.. The gross earnings in 1030 were £391,480, and the profits £16,000.
