RECONSTRUCTION OF THE BUDGET
Bi’itish. Wireless. Rugby, Aug. 25. 'p.HE composition of the new National Cabinet was announced from 10 Downing Street to-night. Mr. Macdonald previously visited Buckingham Palace and had an audience with the King lasting 35 jainutes. The Cabinet consists of the following ten Ministers: — Prime Minister: Mr. Ramsay Macdonald. Chancellor of the Exchequer: Mr. P. Snowden. Lord President of the Council: Mr. Stanley Baldwin. Foreign Minister: Lord Reading. Secretary for the Dominions' and Colonies: Mr. J. H. Thomas. Lord Chancellor: Lord Sankey. Home Secretary: Sir Herbert Samuel. Secretary for India: Sir Samuel Hoare. Minister for Health: Mr. Neville Chamberlain. President of the Board of Trade: Sir P. Cunliffe-Lister. There are in the Cabinet four members of the late Labour Gov'>ernment, two Liberals and four Conservatives. In addition the following appointments are announced:— Secretary for Air: Lord Amulree, who retains the post held under the Labour Government. First Lord of the Admiralty: Sir Austen Chamberlain (Conservative). Secretary for Scotland: Sir Archibald Sinclair (Liberal). President of the Board of Education: Sir Donald Mac Lean (Liberal). Mi-nister of Labour: Sir Henry Betterton (Conservative). First Commissioner of Works: Lord Londonderry (Conservative).- •• Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster: Lord Lothian (Liberal) Minister of Agriculture: Sir John Gilmour (Conservative). The Secretary for War will be announced later. It is generally assumed that Mr.-Baldwin will act as Leader of the House of
