ANGLICAN SUNDAY SCHOOL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Opunake Anglican Sunday school building, which has been considerably ■ enlarged, and provided with convenient appointments, was officially opened on Monday by Mr. J. Fea ver, sen. Mr. Feaver paid a special tribute to the Ladies’ Guild for their untiring efforts to accomplish the work commenced by them some years ago. Mr. W. L. F. Chambers and the Rev. J. G. Wheatley (Presbyterian) congratulated the Anglican congregation on the erection of the Sunday school. _ A sale of work was held in the building on the same day. ' The ladies in charge were: Produce stall, Mesdames F. Hammond and R. McCallum; sweet stall, Mesdames J. N. Stephenson and R. Übhan; needlework, Miss Lewis and Mesdames W. Sorensen and Julian; afternoon tea, Mesdames H. J. Mantey and D. J. Thomas. Music was provided by Mrs. C. Malcolm. The euchre party competition resulted: Mrs. D. Thomas 1, Mrs. McCormick 2; Mr. W. Fake 1, Mr. P. Foskin 2. The cake competition was won by Mrs. Allan (Pihama). The Maori Mission party of entertainers, conducted by Sister Nichols, provided a good concert in the Opunake Town Hall on Monday night and later at Pihama. The St. Patrick’s euchre party resulted: Mrs. McCormick 1, Mrs. Atkins 2; I Mr. L Magee 1, Mr. J. Macßeynolds. 2. < The final of the senior golf cham- ; pionship was won by J. N. Stephenson, who defeated Dr. Fraser 2 up and 1 1 to play. Opunake will play Hawera i< at the week-end. ' ‘
