. METHODIST SOCIAL' FUNCTION. To help to defray preliminary expenses in connection with the spring flower show to be held next month a successful social was held in the Alethodist school hall on Tuesday evening. The function took the form -of games, competitions and musical and vocal items. Those contributing were: Pianoforte solo, Mrs. -W. Crow; tfuet, Messrs. Weston brothers; song, Mr. Appleby; violin solo, Mr. C. King; drill, Cissie Crow and sisters; song, Rev. K. Hadfield. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. W. Crow. Competitions were won by Mrs. Gillespie, Aliss C. Wilson and Mr. S.-Ingham. After the social supper was served by members of the Ladies’ Guild.
A euchre party held in the Soldiers’ Club under the auspices of Mrs. Fahy, was well attended, there being 16 tables engaged in play. The prizes were won as follow: Mrs. E. Johnston 1, Miss Niel 2, Aliss Fulcher consolation; Air. J. Crow 1, Air. S. Sampson 2, Air. B. Dombroski consolation. The points prizes for the series were won by Airs. G. Thompson with .63 games and Air. P. Duffy with 68 games.
