ANOTHER FLOW OF OIL
HUNDRED BARRELS AT MOTUROA#
Following on the insertion of . th® bailer, there was another flow of 10® barrels of oil at the Moturoa Oil Ltd No. 2 well yesterday morning.
The well showed no signs of flowing until the bailer was lowered, when oil was found within 50 feet of the On the bailer being withdrawn the well began to flow freely, and ths control head had to be closed. .There was con* siderable leakage around the rope whera' it passed' through the control head, and 25 barrels of oil flowed into the cellar, A further 75 barrels flowed into the big tank, the flow lasting two hours. After, ■the pressure had eased it was found thas the oil still filled the pipe to within' 300 feet of the surface.
It is intended to insert 2in tubing and a packer, thus reducing the size of thfli outlet from 8J inches to 2 inches. When this is done it is anticipated that Thera will be a better chance of obtaining continuous flow.
The flow yesterday morning was wit* nessed by many interested spectators* including several members of the Tara* naki Stock Exchange. .
