KING’S CUP RACE AT COWES.

FIRST ENTRY FOR THE TROPHY.

British Wireless. • * Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 4. The race for the King’s Cup at Cowes was won by Sir Thomas Lipton’s Shamrock in 4hrs. 10min. It is the first time Sir Thomas Lipton has been able to enter for this trophy. The King’s cutter Britannia was scratched from the race by His Majesty following the accident yesterday when the second , mate was swept overboard and drowned.
