WEATHER IMPROVING. By Talaxraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be cold and squatlj' with scattered passing showers ana still some hail in parts of the South Island. Conditions will improve rapidly and there will be many frosts to-night. Barometers have beeu rising fairly rapidly with the approach of an anticyclone from the westward. South-west-erly to southerly winds, strong to gale force but gradually decreasing, are probable. Seas will be rough to heavy but later moderating. SHIPPING MOVEMENTS. Auckland, August 4.—To sail: Waipi■ata (10 p.m.), for Wellington. Lyttelton, August 4. —Arrived: Wahino (6.55 a.m.), for Wellington; Kiwitea (5.40 p.m.), for Wellington. Sailed: Wahine (8.25 p.m.), for 'Wellington. Sydney, August 4.—Arrived: Monowai (11.45 a.m.), from Auckland.
