The airmen Russell Boardman and John Polandp have arived at Constantinople from Cape Race, America, after a world’s record non-stop flight. They had a fine crossing, though they were compelled to hang over Europe too long owing ip unfavourable atmospheric conditions. . They are intensely pleased that they have • accomplished the flight from America in one hop. The airmen landed perfectly after covering 4984 miles in 49 hours 8 minutes. The Atlantic fliers Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon landed at Cardigan at 7 p.m. yesterday. Fog forced them down with eight hours’ petrol left. They landed in a field without mishap and continued at dawn to Berlin. Herndon and Pangborn are seeking to beat Post and Gatty’s round-the-world record.
