By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, Unemployment registrations for the week ended July 27 totalled 47,772, an apparent increase of 234 over the previous week's total. The Minister of Labour Mr. S. G. Smith, states the number’of men who qualified under scheme 5 and were placed in work was 35,135, a total of 5260 was engaged under scheme 4a and 950 under scheme 4b. The men for whom no work was found, totalled 6427, but it was probable, the Minister added, that the majority of these were unemployable. The total registrations in the cities were Auckland 6861, Wellington 4638, Christchurch 5011 and Dunedin 2845.
