GRAIN MARKET STAGNANT
CANTERBURY PRODUCE PRICES.
By Telegraph.—Pre-- Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The position in regard to potatoes shows no improvement. Values on trucks are 20s a ton, and there are not many buyers even at that figure. The f.o.b. quotation is 35s to 37e 6d a ton. Potatoes for October delivery have been sold at 40s a ton, an improvement that suggests the belief in some quarters that there may be a slight end of season revival. Fowl wheat is quoted at 5s Id to os Ojd f.o.b. for prompt delivery and 5s 3d for August-December delivery. Southern offerings of lower grade continue to supply to a large extent the fowl feed market, and this is affecting the inquiry for local feed. . Milling wheat is unchanged, but business is practically lifeless. Other classes, of produce are attracting no notice. It is the worst year for trade within the memory of present operators.
