The Traders’ Co-ordination Committee on Dock Charges, including representatives of the Chamber of Shipping, Chambers of Commerce Association, Federation of British Industries and many other trading associations, reports complaining against the continuance of the present high rates, pointing out that there has been practically no reduction at British ports for the past seven or eight years though wholesale prices have fallen by 34 per cent., the eost of living by 15 and freights by 33 per cent. The dues pel ton on ships discharging whole cargoes of grain worked out at 5d at Belgian ports. 7.21 d at French ports, 5.02 d at Dutch ports. lO.Sld at German ports and 19.73 d at ports of the United Kingdom.
