DIAGNOSIS OF CANCER

DEFINITE ADVANCE MADE. discovery by dr. bendien. British Wireless. Rugby, July 2’B. The British Empire Cancer Campaign .authorities have been investigating the claim of Dr. Bendien, of Zeist (Holland) to have discovered a method diagnosing cancer. As a result of tests made they state that the discovery appears to mark a definite advance in cancer researcli. Under various conditions 21 specimens were tested. Five were taken from cancerous patients, two from normal people, and 14 from patients with other diseases. Dr. Bendien correctly diagnosed the five specimens known to be from cancerous patients and the two taken from normal individuals. In addition, he diagnosed one of the remainder as cancerous. Further investigations of this case in London proved the diagnosis to be correct. The campaign authorities emphasise that some time must-elapse before the full value of the methods can be obtained and also that this blood test is fo. diagnosis alone.
