Rec. 12.55 a.m. Nottingham, July 6. Rain stopped play this morning ten minutes after the resumption of the cricket match between New Zealand and Nottinghamshire. The weather is clearing and there is a prospect of play after lunch.
The Notts batsmen added five runs to their Saturday night score of 138, and when play was interrupted this morning the score was 143 runs for three wickets.

Warner, in the Morning Post, says: “I am perforce dumb regarding the test match, but sincerely congratulate the New Zealanders on their fine cricket at Lord’s and hope to see them in two more tests, because they deserve the compliment. It will of course be appreciated by the New Zealanders to help their finances, which were hard hit by the bad weather in May and June, and it will help us to build up an English side.”
