KILLED BY SAME WEAPON

MURDERS 23 YEARS APART

MYSTERY .’OF ILLINOIS BROTHERS.

SECOND CARRIED GUN TO REVENGE

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.

Rec. 8 p.m. New York; July 6. The authorities are mystified by the discovery near Richmond, Illinois, of the body of a wealthy retired lawyer, Charles Eldredge, who was murdered on his private island estate by a shot through the heart from a revolver with which his brother Roy Eldredge was murdered, under* identical circumstances •23 years ago. Charles Eldredge had invariably carried the weapon since then, stating he hoped to find liis brother’s killer and “shoot him with the same gun.”

Signs of a struggle and the position of the revolver disprove the possibility of suicide.
