PLANS TO FLY TO ENGLAND
GREETINGS CARRIED TO JAPAN.
THE FIRST HALT AT BRISBANE.
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 10.30 p.m. Sydney, July 3. The New Zealand airman, Air. F. C. Chichester, left Sydney tins morning for Brisbane on a trip to England via Japan. Ho will carry messages from the Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand, to the Prime Minister of Japan. The trials of his seaplane have proved satisfactory. The airman departed without the slightest fuse. He merely shook hands with a few officers aboard the navy aircraft-carrier Albatross and disappeared over the side into his seaplane, which was moored nearby. “Good-bye, everybody,” he called, and was out of sight in a few minutes. It was a glorious sunny morning. Air. Chichester is carrying petrol for 500 miles, a small wooden box of tinned food, a rubber boat, a, revolver and letters containing greetings.
