On Alondiiy afternoon Airs. Duckworth brightened her home with flowers and a large cheery fire and invited several friends. Bowls of autumn berries were arranged in the drawing-room. After two years’ service at the Patea Public Hospital, Sister Al. B. Proffitt was the recipient of several presents from the nursing staff and patients of the hospital on Tuesday last. Eulogistic speeches were made and hopes expressed for her successful future, after which musical honours were given Sister Proffit, testifying io her popularity with her co-workers, staff and patients. Sistei Proffitt intends taking up her profession in a private capacity.
