RIGHTS OF RETURNED SOLDIERS. REQUEST FOR NEW LEGISLATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Returned Soldiers’ Association conference carried remits that in necessitous cases of returned soldier mortgagors under the State Advances Department the mortgagor should have the right to obtain a readjustment of the terms of the mortgage on proper application. While not expressing any dissatisfaction .with the existing Land Boards, the conference decided to make representtitions to the Government to enable the Returned Soldiers’ Association to have representation on the boards. The Government will be urged to introduce legislation providing for revaluation of house properties secured to the Crown under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act or the State Advances Department.
