RAHOTU NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent., When taking cattle to a sale on Thursday Mr. Allen Carter had the misfortune to break his ankle and hurt his hip through his horse falling upon him. He was taken to Mr. Hughson’s and from there to the New Plymouth public hospital. The Rahotu footballers, perhaps because they missed the bad weather, were unable to play with such vigour and were easily beaten'by Kaponga by 18 to 15. Okato basketball. girls visited Rahotu and beat the home team by 6 to 3. A kitchen afternoon is to be tendered to Mrs. W. Barr by the Methodist ladies and other friends. Mr. and Mrs. Barr lost everything in a recent fire. Mr. Cyril Wadsworth was on Sunday taken into the hospital suffering from pleurisy. A euchre party, the last of the series, was well attended on Monday night. The aggregate prizes were won by Mrs. Tamaki and Mr. N. Andrews. Master H. Wasw'o won the men’s first and Mrs. W. Hodsoh the ladies’. Mr. J. Nielson and Mrs. Farquhar won the s-eond prizes. There is to be a series of euchre parties starting in the interests of the Piunket Society.
