NEW PLYMOUTH HARRIERS

RUN FROM EAST END BEACH. Thirty-one members of the Ncav Plymouth Harrier Club met at East End for the Aveckly run on Saturday afternoon. The conditions Avere ■ ideal, Avith some sunshine and a light breeze. The pace-makers,-A. Eaddy and Richards, set off across To Henui stream along the bank for about a mile and then turned toAvards Mangorei Road. Here the pack found the going very heavy on account of fern and blackberry. The pack went on to the old reservoir, where a spell Avas taken. From there the course was to the river through the borough reserve. The river Avas crossed a couple of times and a feAV of the braver ones decided to have a swim in the cold Waiwakaiho; The leaders set off toAvards the Fitzroy quarries and down Rimu Street to Strandon and home again. The run Avas about 44 miles in length. ■ Next Saturday the harriers Avill meet at the racecourse for a cross-country race for a trophy presented by Mr. Stewart. The time for starting Avill be 2.30 pan.
