CHARGE OF FALSE PRETENCES. WELLINGTON WOMEN IN COURT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Having taken a dog from a private residence at Karori, Mabel ey (trading u der the name of Miss Christmas) and. Martha Stevenson were jointly charged with obtaining £2 from X ictor Larcomb by false pretences. Mr. E. Page, S.M., did not accept the story that the dog was taken away from kindness to teach the owner a lesson. He fined Mrs. Harvey £5, convicted the other accused and ordered her to come up if called within twelve months
