THEFT FROM WAREHOUSE
FOUR SACKS OF TOBACCO. ■ DUNEDIN MAN’S ADMISSION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Juno 18. Arthur Gavan, a young man, was committed for sentence on a charge-of breaking and entering a warehouse and stealing tobacco and cigarettes valued at £ll5. ■ ' ’ ,> ‘J'' ; Gavan said that ho. hired ■ a cart in Christchurch and left for Dunedin with two companions, whose names lie did not wish to mention. Two days later he met his companions at night outside a warehouse and loaded four sacks. ■ It was arranged that he should see his companions at Christchurch where he, agreed to drop the sacks with a tobacconist, whom he did not wish to mention. He left for the north the same night and was arrested at Timaru.
