FIRM MARKET FOR LAMB. SMITHFIELD QUOTATIONS. Lamb market: First quality remains firm, with quiet demand. Second, quality firmer at better prices. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes, market quiet but steady. There is a good demand for lightweight wethers. Beef market: Practically no demand for frozen beef. New Zealand, porker pigs: Market is dull, with little demand. New Zealand pigs: Nominal prices. The above report was received on Saturday by the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the approximate average prices realise! for the week ended June 12, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores. Deliveries of New Zealand butter for the week ended June 12 were 1079 tons, as compared with 1082 tons a year , ago.' .The quantity in store is 5944 tons, .as against 10,531 tons, a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter for the week were 1075 tons, as against 812 tons' a year ago, the quantity in store at present being 2500 tons, as against 3500 tons a year ago. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese for the week were 19,000 crates, as compared with 17,951 crates a year ago. The quantity in store is 170,000 crates, as against 123,623 crates a year ago. Deliveries of Canadian cheese for the week were 3149 boxes, as against 1239 boxes a year ago; the quantity in store being 131,000 boxes, as compared with 96,163 boxes. ■ SHAREMARKET TRANSACTIONS.
