THE LIVE STOCK MARKET RECORD ENTRIES AT ADDINGTON. FAT SHEEP AND LAMBS ADVANCE. Christchurch, June. 10. The weekly market at Addington to-day established a record with such entries of fat lambs and fat sheep as have not been known at any corresponding period for 28 years. Despite the heavy entries, there was an advance in values. Export buyers were keen competitors on a new and advanced, schedule of values. For both fat lambs and fat ewes the amended schedule shows an advance of id. per pound. The store sheep entry was heavier than that of last week, but the quality generally was poor. Values were: Extra good six and eight-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes to 15s. 7d., good. 13s. to 145., ordinary six and eight-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes to 10s., good six and eight-tooth lialfbred ewes to 12s. Sd., ordinary six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes 9s. 6d. to 10s. 4d., ordinary s.m. six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes to Bs., aged ewes 3s. to ss. 3d., extra good six and eight-tooth three-quarter-bred wethers to 18s., good six and eighttooth three-quarterbred wethers Us. to 12s. 6d., good two-tooth halfbred wethers to 125., good ewe lambs to 12s. 9d., good, wether lambs to 10s. 6d., backward lambs 2s. 3d. to 4s. 9d. Fat Lambs. —An entry of 5300 head, nearly three times as large as last week. The sale was very keen with a general advance in values. For 36’s the schedule now is 6 l-Bd. per lb., but that figure was exceeded in many instances. A big proportion of the entry sold at £1 a head and over. "Values were: Extra prime lambs to 235. 7d., prime 19s. 6d. to 21s. 6d., medium 17s. 6d. to 19s. 3d., light lambs 14s. to 175., store lambs Ils. to 13s. 6d. Fat Sheep.—Despite the heavy entry competition was keen and values advanced by Is. a head. Values were: Show wethers 225. 6d. to 275. 10d., extra prime 20s. to 225., prime 17s. to 19s. 6d., medium 14s. 9d. to 16s. 6d., light Ils. 6d. to 145., extra prime ewes to 17s. 6d., prime 14s. to 15s. 6d., medium Us. 9d. to 13s. 6d., light 10s. to Us. 6d., aged Bs. to 9s. 6d. ‘Fat Cattle.—A large entry of 478 head, with drafts from the North Island, Southland, South Canterbury and the West Coast. South Canterbury was over-supplied and values eased by up to £1 a head. Best beef made from 275. to 30s. per 1001 b., good prime beef 225. to 265., ordinary to 215., best heifer beef to 305., good cow beef 225., ordinary 13s. to 16s. Extra prime heavy steers sold to £l5 7s. 6d., prime heavy £lO 10s. to £l3, medium weight £7 15s. to £lO, ordinary £6 to £7 10s., light to £5 10s., extra prime heifers to £ll 12s. 6d., prime £6 to £B, medium £3 15s. to £5 155., light to £3 10s., extra tprime cows to £l2 2s. 6d., prime £5 10s. to £7 10s., medium £3 10s. to £5, light to £3.

Fat Pigs. —Values were a little firmer. The beef entry of over 900 head was drawn from all parts of the North Island, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Bay of Plenty and North Auckland graziers contributing. Best ox beef made up to 255. per 1001 b., young cowjs and heifers 20s. to 245. per 1001 b., and canner and boner cows cold down to Bs. 6d. per 100 lb. CalveS sold at the lowest prices for years, good quality vealers making from 20s. to 355. A heavy entry of fat sheep sold at late rates, exporters supporting the market. SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE. Newton King Limited, Stratford, report having conducted a most successful clearance sale on account of Mr. T. A. Smart, Hunter Road, Elthani, on Wednesday. Despite the adverse climatic conditions there was a very large

attendance of buyers and the bidding was spirited. The herd comprised 48 young cows of good quality, type and condition, and averaged the good figure of £lO.
