Rce. 11.35 p.m. ' London, June 7. An earth tremor was felt throughout England at 1.30 this morning. No damage was done, but some sleepers on upper floors in the provinces were thrown from their beds and crockery was broken. Alarmed people, especially villagers, rushed into the streets in their night clothes. The shock was apparently most severe in Yorkshire. It is believed it was the strongest experienced in England for 23 years. The motion was felt clearly for a minute, and lasted altogether seven minutes.
