CONTROL OF SOCCER GAME
PROFITS FROM ART UNION. MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. By Telegraplj.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association tonight it was reported that the art Union had resulted in a profit of £6700 each to the Football Association and the New Zealand Cricket Association. A sub-com-mittee was set Up to consider the investment of the money. A gold Watch was presented, tb the chairman, Mr, F. Campbell, as ail appreciation of his strenuous Work ifi carrying the aft union to a successful issue. The NeW Zealand Cricket Association aireddy sent Mr. Campbell a silver tea service in recognition of his services.
The council agreed to assist towards the travelling expenses in the semi-filial and the Chatham Cup up to £lOO, pro rata contributions towards the Football Association Cup and the Brown Shield to be considered later. The sum of £5O was allocated for school football throughout the Dominion. The paying of expenses of delegates to the general meeting of the association is to be considered shortly. The sum of £2O Was granted to each of the primary schools tournaiiient in the North and South Island. The Canterbury Association reported that a Marist player had been suspended for oiie playing Saturday for misconduct in the Marist-Old Boys match. The matter was referred back for a copy of the evidence. The sum of £lO was granted to .the New Zealand Referees’ Association. Permission was granted for matches between Wellington and Canterbury at Wellington on June 3 and Westland and Buller "for the Emm Shield. The date for Chatham Cup entries was extended to May 18. Auckland has been asked to fix another date for the Wellington challenge Football Association trophy.
