IMPROVED WHEAT PRICES

A wheat expert stated recently that improved wheat prices mean an addition of £1,500,000 to Australian wealth on the surplus of the 1030-31 crop. HO declared that there was no chance of the market declining; it should improve. TRADING IN FUTURES CONTROL OF THE EXCHANGES. Winnipeg, May 4. A Free Press despatch from Ottawa states that the report of Sir Josiah Stamp which he presented to the Premier, recommends the continuance of trading in grain futures as necessary to th® handling of the crops, blit urges * greater Government control in grain exchange operations.
