The pooling of wheat is illegal, the Saskatchewan Supreme Court rules, declaring ultra vires the Grain Marketing Act passed by the legislature last session. The Act was to have become effective if carried on a farmers’ plebiscite in June. The judgment, in effect, declares that the producer cannot be forced to deliver up his produce to any organisation. Mr. Frank Eliason, secretary of the United Farmers of Canada (Saskatchewan section), declares that the fight for growers’ control will be still carried on.
