PRODUCE OF CANTERBURY
POTATO MARKET WEAKENS. By Telegraph.—Frew Association. Christchurch, Last Night. There has been a serious weakening in the potato market quotation. To-day the prompt pfice is 70s to 72s 6d f.0.b., at which price buyers are not interested, The quotation for July-August-September delivery is 77s 64 to 80s f.o.b. To-day a gale was njacle at 50s on trucks for prompt delivery. Shipments (o the North Island haye npt been l§.rge. The price for fowl wheat has advanced sharply, the demand being in excess of the supply., The quotation for pronipt delivery is 5s 3d f.o.b- and for May delivery 5s 4d- It is difficult to secure a quotation for spread delivery, The market for milling wheat is firm. Tuscan is quoted at 5s 3d to 5s 4d a bushel on trucks. The oats njarket is dead. A Garfons are nominally 2s IOJd f.o.b, and B’s 2s Sid. For spread delivery South Island ports A’s are 2p lOd. Chaff is worth £2 lug a ion on trucks. Free linseed is worth £9 to £9 10s a ton on trucks,’which U much below the price being paid to contract growers this season.
