FIRST ROUND OF MACDIARMID CUP The first round of th© competition for the Mac Diarmid Cup was played by members of the New Plymouth Ladies’ Golf Club at the Waiwakaiho links yesterday. - ' \ ■■■< Results are: —Miss Gavin won from Mrs. McQuade by default; Mrs. QuiL liam defeated Mrs. Rankin l.up; Mrs. Mac Diarmid defeated Miss Rollo 5 and 3; Miss M. Thomson won from Mrs. Wade by default; Miss Howes defeated Miss McMullan 1 up at th© 19th; Mrs. Russell defeated Miss Brodie 7 and 6; Miss Blundell defeated Mrs. Hill 4 and 3; Mrs. Boon defeated Mrs. Stainton 4 and 2; Miss Home defeated Miss Leatham 3 and 2; Miss Rolfe defeated Mrs. Brewster 4 and 3; Mrs. Duff Taylor defeated Mrs. Mander 2 and 1; Mrs. Nicholson defeated Miss Smart 3 and 2; Miss Horner defeated Miss Malone 5 and 4; Mrs. Curtis defeated Miss Grover 2 and 1; Miss Dell defeated Mrs. Waterston 7 and 6; Miss Shaw defeated Miss Rennell 5 and 4. The second round is to be played by May 11.
