ALLEGED THEFT OF CLOTH
BUSINESS MAN INVOLVED.
ACCUSED REMANDED ON BAIL.
I Charged with stealing a bolt of blue sdrge valued at £25, the property of D. Eutchart, whose tailoring premises were recently destroyed by tire, a man in business in Stratford whose name was suppressed was remanded by Air. G. E. Wilson, J.P., on Friday to appear at the Stratford court on May 4, the police intimating that by that time the value and quantity of allegedly stolen articles would probably be more than was at present indicated on the charge sheet. Air. N. H. Aloss, who appeared for accused. applied for suppression of the name on the ground that accused was conducting a business in the town and that no evidence had yet been placed before the court. Sergeant Power: I intend to ask for substantial bail. The value of property allegedly stolen will no doubt be wcressed, when the case comes on. Mr. Wilson remarked that he had received strict instructions on the matter of supressing names, but on the representations of Mr. Aloss the request was granted. . Bail was fixed at £l5O and one surety of £l5O.
