TARANAKI LAND BOARD

MORTGAGE CHARGES RE-ADJUSTED The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board commenced on Wednesday, April 22, there being present Messrs; W. D. Armit (chairman),' S. Blake, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland and H. A, Foreman. Five applications for land were dealt with, of which three were recommended and two deferred. Four applications to transfer were also recommended, two were approved and one declined. The arbitrator’s report in connection with a renewal of a lease over part section 545, Patea district, was received, whilst it was decided that renewal rentals of two education reserve leases in New Plymouth be fixed by arbitration. In three instances mortgagors were granted temporary, exemption from residence on their holding, whilst in two cases re-adjustment of mortgage charges are being effected. Several applications for financial assistance were received, of whifh one .was recommended under the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1919, and seven recommended, one refused and one deferred under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act. Two applications to mortgage the lessees’ interests in holdings were approved. Several applications for rental and. other concessions received consideration. Tenders will shortly be called for 21 years’ leases over sub-sections 8, 9. 21, 29 and 34 of Ohawe town .belt, while the, following sections will be shortly re-offered for selection: Section 6S and lot 2 of 7S, Kota settlement; section 18, block V., Ngatimaru survey district; section 9, block 1, Rangi survey district; and sub-seetion 2 of section 8, block XL, Tangitu survey district. Tenders will also be called for grazing rights over various sections in ‘blocks 1., 11., XL, XII. and XV., town of Ohura. It was resolved that sections 11 and 34, block 11., Nghtimaru survey district, be withdrawn from selection temporarily. Forty-one further miscellaneous cases were dealt with.
