DRIVER OF TAXI KILLED
CAPSIZE AT STREET CORNER. PASSENGERS ESCAPE INJURY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The driver of a taxi, Sinclair Lewarne, aged 25, was killed-, early this morning when the car he was driving capsized when turning a street corner. Three passengers in thri car, Thomas William Fuddle) Peggy Fuddle and Patrick Karaitiana, escaped with minor cuts and bruises. No one witnessed the accident and the passengers Were unaware what happened. It seems probable that Lewarne ill, making the turning struck the kerb with the inside wheels and that the jolt threw the car over. LevVariie received head injuries. He .was alive When lifted from the wreck but died almost immediately.' Lewarne had been 'driving a taxi for some years. By trade he was a motor mechanic.
