FRIENDLY TENNIS MATCH

PUNGAREHU DEFEATS OKATO. A team of six men and four ladies from the Pungarehu Tennis Club visited Okato yesterday and after an enjoyable game defeated the home club by 12 sets and 98 games to seven sets and 72 games. The weather though dull remained fine with the exception of one slight shower which was not sufficient to stop play. The teams were entertained at afternoon tea. At the close of play Mr. J. Wadsworth congratulated the winners and expressed the hope that a return match might be arranged. In acknowledging Mr. R. B. Fleming, captain of the Pungarehu team, stated that they would be only too pleased to arrange a return match, but. as the club had only one court available it Tvould probably be advisable to -play at Okato.
