DAIRY CONTROL BOARD

SHOULD IT BE ABOLISHED? TALK AMONG PRODUCERS. “That each dairy company take a vote among its suppliers as to whether the Dairy Board-should be abolished or retained, such vote to be taken immediately so that if it is favoured, proper representations can be made to Parliament when the House meets in June next,” was the text of a resolution which was passed unanimously at a meeting of the Taikorea (Manawatu) Dairy Company recently. The resolution was the outcome of . a communication from another dairy factory in the district advocating an amalgamation of all the primary produce boards. The chairman, Mr. S. E. Algar, said that there was a feeling among cheese producers that the present state of the cheese market was due in no small measure to unwise statements emanating from certain members of the board.
