Support for a remit advocating the participation of the Alaori race in the liquor poll was given by the Taranaki district convention of the W.C.T.U. yesterday. A flower show will be held at Kaponga Town Hall to-day in aid of St. Alark’s Church. In addition to the floral display there will be various forms of entertainment.

Th© generosity of a number of donors has enabled the Naumai Park committee at Hawera to purchase and place on the lake in the park a pair of white swans.

Challenge cups for South Taranaki residential tennis championships have been donated by Blair’s, Ltd., and J. B. Gerrand and Sons, Ltd. The Hawera Club’s courts will be available to members during the week-end, although the championships will be played there.
