STRUCK BY FALLING DERRICK.

TOO HEAVY FOR MEN TO HANDLE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 24. Three waterside workers were seriously injured by a falling derrick on the motor ship Port Fremantle at Queen’s wharf this morning. They are: .Alex. Williams, aged 02. fractured skull; Arthur Harman, aged. 51, fractured skull; William Barr, injuries to back. Men were lowering the derrick ready for work when the weight of it ran away from them. Barr was struck by th j heel block, and the other two by flying wire. Several others standing nearby scattered and escaped.
