The question of extending the present retaining wall in a westerly direction from the band rotunda was discussed and the alternative possibility of constructing a boulder wall in a northerly direction into the sea to catch the sand was advanced. A committee of four was appointed to writ on the Harbour Board to gain permission to carry on work on the be"ch and to consult with tin xiarbour Board engineer, Mr. G. W. B. Lowson, on the projects. It wa thought that should either of the scheme be adopted .it might be possible to do the work with the help of scheme No. 5 of the Unemployment Act.
