He told a fanciful tale of millions for investment and brought in the names of Mr. Bruce, a former Prime Minister, Lord Derby and sey> eral British financial magnates, who were supposed to be behind the scheme. He.finally induced three persons here te advance sums aggregating £l3OO, which he converted to his own use.
