ELTHAM THEATRE. “GOLD DIGGERS OF BROADWAY.” The singing and dancing Vitaphone picture, “Gold Diggers of Broadway,” will show to-night. This is a top-notch screen entertainment in the new style—talking and singing and dancing on the screen amid a riot of colours as gay and bright as the rainbow can display. And the colours are clearly defined, but with the softness of pastel. First of all, it is a spanking good comedy with nine new songs and a show-within-a-show, in which songs are sung and ten interpolated, and a chorus of 100. dancing and singing, dazzling Hollywood beauties. The result is entertainment de luxe which sets a new goal for other pictures to aim at. It has a remarkable cast, including Ann Pennington, Nancy Welford, Nick Lucas, Lilyan Tashman, William Bakewell, Helen Foster, Winnie Lightner, Albert Gran, Gertrude Short, Neely Edwards, Julia Swayne Gordon, Lee Moran, Armand Kaliz and many others, and, in Jshort, 'is entertainment de luxe.
