Last Night., The City Council decided by, s, majority oi one to reduce the Salaries "of its officers, the new scale to operate on April 1. The following recommendhtioq <?f the finance ■ committee was agreed to; That as the economic conditions of the Dominion call for material reductions in the costs of government; a reduction of salaries be made to operate as from April 1, 1931, and that where the coufl- \ cil is paying wages and allowances in excess of award rates that award rate be reverted to as from April 1, 1931.
