OPPOSITION TO FARM BOARD

RESIGNATION OF CHAIRMAN. VIOLENT CONTROVERSY RECALLED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Feb. 14. Mr. Alexander Legge's resignation from the chairmanship of the Federal Farm Board to re-enter the International Harvester Company is believed to be due to continuous opposition from various sources to his grain stabilisation policy and to the violent controversy in which he was involved last year. Not only were professional grain trading interests opposed to the Farm Board’s activities, but certain sections of the wheat growing areas were also in sharp conflict with it, particularly over Mr. Le’gg’r reduced wheat acreages. Surmises here concering Mr. Legge’s successor point to the vice-chairman, Mr. James Stone, of the Farm Board.
