The courts were in very fair order, but the prevailing southerly wind which swept the courts most of the afternoon made play very difficult at' times. At the conclusion of the . matches Mr. R. H. Newing, on behalf of the New Plymouth club, thanked, the Waitara club for its hospitality and expressed the hope that the Waitara club would be able to send a team to play a return match at New Plymouth in the near future.
