THINGS TO BE AVOIDED.
Don't polish the floors to such an extent that walking upon them becomes a positive danger. Be careful, in particular, of the floor space under loose rugs and mats. , Don’t allow the cat access to the kitchen when you go to bed because he might possibly turn on the gas-stove and “gas” the household during the night. - • Don't allow the flex from a standard lamp to cross the floor Just where everyone is likely to trip over jt. Don’t permit door-to-door vendors to crosit the threshold upon any pretext. Most of these men may be perfectly honest, but, on the other hand, there might be one who has designs upon your purse. Don’t leave pins and needles lying about or sticking in the arms of chairs. Don’t forget to inspect the picture wires occasionally. You can never tell when a heavy picture may come crashing down, perhaps with disastrous results. Don’t leave cigarette ends alight, even in ash-trays. Not only are they liable to ruin the furniture, but they might set fire to the house.
