The Progress loaded at Dunedin yesterday for New Plymouth, where she is due on February 5, via Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. (Hooker Bros.). TUiRAKINA LEAVE'S COLON. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cabled advice that the Turakina, which left Auckland on January 3 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, cleared Colon on January 23. The vessel carries 2847 boxes of butter, 5213 crates of cheese and 14,000 freight carcases of meat from New Plymouth. MIRRABOOKA SAIL'S. The Swedish motor-ship Mirrabooka left San Rrancisco on January 23 with Pacific Coast cargo for discharge . at Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth and Australia. She is due at Auckland on February. 1.0, Wellington on February 13, and New Plymouth on February 17. PAKEHA COMPLETING. The Shaw, Savill arid Albion steamer Pakeha is expected to leave Wellington to-morrow for Auckland, where she is due at daylight on Monday to complete loading for London. The vessel is to be dispatched on Monday evening for London,- via Panama. She carries cargo from New Plymouth. PORT FAIRY TO SAIL. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor-ship Port Fairy, which is loading general and refrigerated cargo and wool at Auckland,, is to be dispatched this evening for London, via Panama. The vessel started loading at New Plymouth recently. KIWITEA LEAVES MELBOURNE. The Union Company advises that the Kiwitea left Melbourne at four o’clock op Tuesday afternoon for Auckland. ■Portland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. ■She is due at Auckland on Sunday. RUAPEHU’S FAST PASSAGE.

Ori'e of the oldest steamers now running regularly, between England and New Zealand, the Ruapehu, which arrived at Auckland from London and Gravesend on Tuesday, covered the distance between Panama And Auckland in 20 days, the fastest time she has ever recorded. The Ruapehu left Gravesend on December 20, and, favoured by good weather, reached the canal in 17 days. Fine weather still prevailed, across the Pacific, and the vessel, which called at Pitcairn Island en route, took 37 days for the entire trip, excellent time for a ship in her 30th year of service'. She is to leave Auckland again next Monday for Port Chalmers and New Plymouth to complete dipcharge.
